I know I have been very behind in blogging my children sessions. It’s not that I haven’t had any, it’s more the opposite. I’ve had so many I don’t have time to even think about blogging! My name is Amanda and I am a professional wedding and portrait photographer based in Des Moines, Iowa. I travel the world photographing weddings and elopements! I have been shooting weddings 15 years now and I never tire of it. Each day is unique and beautiful in it's own way.

I absolutely LOVE being a wedding photographer. The fantastic moments you never expect, the tiniest details and all the love and craziness that goes on at the same time. It's all amazing and I feel like I have the best career in the world, getting to capture and help you remember all of it. Days flit by in an instant and it's my job to make sure you don't a single moment, or those feelings you felt.

In my free time I love spending time with my 2 beautiful kiddos and husband. I love to be outdoors camping, hiking or fishing, just being in nature. I'm obsessed with plants and gardening. I love finding the beauty in the outdoors and things around me. It's part of why I love photography so much, I get to find the beauty in others. Traveling and dragging my family along with me for photos is my absolute favorite! I also am pretty much a giant Harry Potter nerd. I'm obsessed with all things turquoise. I'd eat sushi every day if I could. I drink coffee ALL day EVERY day (ok and some wine) and fashion is a passion! I am a creative at heart so music and all types of art keep me entertained. I also make it a priority to be near the ocean at least once a year (if not more) and love to feel the sun on my skin whenever possible!

Oh my goodness, so many cute kids I can hardly stand it. I especially love the ones at the very beginning with the mom in lace – so light and soft.

maaaan… you already know you’re my favorite kids’ photographer out there. this post just shows why… props, lighting, composition are all excellent, but when the kids (even babies!) look at your camera, you somehow manage to get straight to the heart of them. such beautiful faces… they melt this momma’s heart 🙂 wish you were closer by!!!!

Newborn in the pink knitted wrap made my heart melt.
Came on here to check out a friend’s wedding photos and was completely taken by the children photos! The close up of the little girl standing on her daddy’s toes actually brought tears to my eyes! Wish there was someone like you out there when my kids were little!
