Last Saturday I photographed the lovely wedding of Tory & Michael. Their engagement session was shot in the rain, so we figured the weather could only get better for their wedding day! To our surprise, the forecast said a snowy rain mix. Luckily, they were wrong. (What’s new in Iowa, right?!) The skies opened up to a very chilly but nice day. I met Tory in the morning at Estilo Salon in West Des Moines.
I just want to take a second to do a plug for them. They’re pretty much amazing and I recommend them for any bride getting ready on their wedding day. I had the wonderfully opportunity of photographing a Nick Arrojo event there last summer. I haven’t blogged it yet, but I will soon! It was awesome. In case you don’t know who Nick Arrojo is, he is a celebrity hair stylist and used to be the hair stylist featured on TLC’s What Not To Wear. Anyway, the girls in this salon are beyond talented and the owner is amazing. So if you haven’t booked a salon that does everything for your wedding day, I suggest booking them!
So, after the salon I met them downtown where the ceremony and reception were being held. The beautiful Temple for Performing Arts. Definitely recommended as a venue. I have had the chance to shoot there a couple of times now and it’s a very beautiful venue! The rest is pretty much in the photos!
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. A beautiful bride, and amazing details. Such good formals, a real connection with your subjects. And your silhouette during the dancing – wow.
