When I was a little girl there was this other little girl who lived across the country from me in Oregon. I loved her so much and thought of her as pretty much one of my best friends. Anytime my parents would make a home video of my brother and I one of the first things out of my mouth was, “HI STEPHANIE!”; because I was sure that this tape was going to be mailed to her. That girl/this beautiful bride to be, is my cousin Steph. She happened to move back to Iowa when we were in middle school. Unfortunately we don’t see each other as often as we should anymore. Admittedly I probably don’t see much of anyone as often as I should anymore, just a hazard of being knee deep in something you love. So I was honored, to say the least, when Steph asked me to be her wedding photographer. She stood up for me when I got married and I feel like this is even better than being a bridesmaid. Not only do I get to be around my family and all the ones I love but I also get to DO what I love and photograph them. I am so excited for their wedding in May! I only had one stipulation since it is family and they all know how to throw down. I will have my camera in one hand, champagne (or beer later on..) in the other!
A photo of her and I when we were little (I am on the right) Were we not adorable!? I’m sure I have better ones, but it’s late.
