The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind for me. I had 3 weddings in one week, one of those were in Jamaica. I haven’t had time to blog till now because I am working till the wee hours of the morning just to try and catch up on editing (which I can’t seem to do! I should just probably accept that at this time of the year). It’s been about 2 weeks since I shot Jamie & Stacie’s wedding in Negril, Jamaica at Couple’s Swept Away. It was so beautiful there. The ceremony was a small intimate wedding with just close relatives. I can’t picture a better way to be married than with some of your closest relatives in an amazingly beautiful spot.
Jamie is actually my own cousin, so I was even more excited to get a chance to hang out with him and his now wife and get to know her better. I’d have to say that we have become good friends! When I first started talking to Stacie about her wedding, it was as if we were already friends right from the start.
The whole time we were there, the sun was not out once. Amazingly, even with the clouds in full force and some rain off and on, the water still looked very blue and it was ever so peaceful. Coming from Iowa, I don’t get a chance to sit on a beach and just listen to waves very much. So I will take it, sun or no sun! It was a chance of a lifetime. When I first started photography I never dreamed I’d be travelling the world to photograph people and yet now I do it once or twice a year. Not only that, but I fall in love with every couple/family or child I photograph. I don’t think I could honestly imagine a better career.
Jamie & Stacie, thank you SO much for bringing me along to capture your special day. We had so much fun and I hope these photos help you remember it all for a lifetime. Love you guys!
The sun finally poked out right before we left on our shuttle to the airport
